Abused Cat-Needs Home ASAP

Description
Background: I was visiting my cousin a few days ago (who I hadn't seen in years). The first thing I noticed walking in was the strong cat pee smell. The litterbox was overflowing and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. While I was visiting, the cat urinated on the floor. Her boyfriend grabbed the cat and shoved her face into the urine. After that he was going to put the cat into a small closet with the nasty litterbox so she could learn a lesson. We got into a huge argument about this. Apparently he's been doing this for years and says he's training her. He admitted that he sometimes leaves her in there for the entire night. I told them both that they needed to keep the litterbox clean if they expected her to use it and that they were being abusive. They got angry with me and told me to take the cat if I thought I was so much better than them. I took the cat and left, and I have no intention of ever seeing either one of them again. I knew I couldn't keep her but I just couldn't leave her there. The thought of her spending the night in a closet with that nasty litterbox was heartbreaking and I don't even want to think about how many times she's already had to endure that. I also don't want to think about what else this cat has probably endured. If he acted like that in front of me (who he just met) he may be even worse if I wasn't there. My apartment does not allow pets and I can't afford to take care of her. I've asked everyone I know and nobody is willing to take her in. This cat deserves so much more but if I can't find her a home quickly I'll have to take her to a shelter. I believe she is around 5 years old. She's not fixed. She's kind of anxious. Her fur seems thin around her tail and rear. I'm hoping to find someone who will be patient with her because she may have some litterbox issues. I suspect a UTI. She's in heat right now and she's very vocal. She was nervous with me at first but she's much more friendly now and likes to lay on my lap and enjoys being petted. Any behavioral problems might be fixed if she was spayed, got proper medical care and was treated humanely. I hope there's someone reading this who has a big heart and can give her the kind of life she should have always had. If you're interested in taking her, please let me know if: 1. You have any past experience with abused animals 2. You can afford to take her to the vet. 3. You have any other pets currently in the home 4. You can take her immediately
