CURRENTLY PENDING PICKUP FOR THURSDAY... Will delete post if its picked up. I am planning on moving across the country in my camper SUV in the spring so would like to find my pacman frog a good home. I have had him since he was the size of a quarter about a year and a half to 2 years ago. got him at the reptile store in Middleburg. he is about the size of my hand. He stays buried in the dirt most of the time. He does not use a water bowl at all. I mist and water him down every few days. When he was younger he would eat hornworms, earthworms, crickets, frozen mice. Now as an adult he has no interest in any of that. He will only eat live mice. I feed him every couple weeks. He hates the light. But he needs a day/night cycle so i have several different bulbs that i choose from. I try to keep the dome fixture so the light does not hit him but just the other side of the enclosure. Currently i use a reptisun 5.0 fluorescent bulb. I also have a zoo med LED Lightbar a mini one that i use sometimes. I have 1 live plant in the tank. The others are fake. This tank was bioactive when i first got it but didnt bother with keeping it bioactive. So the frog typically will not poop in the tank. I remove him from the tank every 2 weeks, hose him down and put him in a small pet carrier that has water up to half his body. I let him soak in there for about an hour. in that time he always poops. While he is soaking in there i mix up his substrate around the entire tank especially where he has been buried. then i take a mister and soak all of the substrate really well with almost a gallon of water. Once i am done i put the frog back. He spends an hour or so to find a spot in the tank. I toss in a live mouse; He eats it and then finds his spot and buries himself. Wont see him again for a couple weeks. As for heat... He has 1 heat mat on each side of the tank connected to a their own thermostat that is set to 82 degrees. I replace these mats once a year as the adhesive wears down. Its currently time to replace them. you can do that part. Buy a 2 pack on amazon. At night when its cold i cover the top of his tank with a towel to keep the heat in. I also have a nice fogger that i turn on every couple days for an hour or so. I live in Orange Park near academy sports. I will not travel. Any questions feel free to ask.
