Trac-Work Inc., a local railroad construction company is currently accepting applications for general labor work. Apply at 4925 Weeping Willow Rd, Houston, Texas 77092 Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 3 PM Phone number (713) 681-0586 Requirements: Must have a current TWIC Card and be able to pass a hair follicle drug screen. Must be able to pass any needed safety courses - Plant specifics, Basic Plus, OSHA etc. Must been able to travel 4-12 days at a time to multiple states. Hotel and transportation are provided by company. Pier diem pay of $25/day Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 100 pounds. Capable of working in inclement weather and/or conditions. Position Summary: Perform hard physical labor using hand tools and equipment to: construct, alter, repair, maintain, and demolish railroad tracks, associated structures and components. Move, clean and tamp ballast (crushed stone-like material) with shovels, tamping picks, clay picks, lining bars, and ballast forks. Raise tracks, turnouts, crossings, and rails with track or power jacks. Cut associated materials with oxygen-acetylene torches, rail saws, cut off saws, and cold chisels. Work alongside heavy equipment by connecting, disconnecting and controlling material that is being moved and by directing such movement. Participate in safety meetings. Wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, provided by company. Long term career for individuals who can learn and take on additional responsibilities.
