Artist bio: Emily is an Oregon-based fiber artist who creates round weavings, hand dyes recycled ribbons, and loves mixed media work. Her work is focused on making sustainable, earth-inspired art to take your adventures home with you. You will often find non-traditional materials and methods in her weavings to keep things interesting and experimental! Outside of making art, Emily loves to go hiking with her partner and pitbull rescue dog, deep life chats, and, of course, take care of her dozens of houseplants. Beginner Round Weaving Workshop description: Learn how to weave in the round! This beginner-friendly class is great for anyone - fiber art experience isn’t required. We will go over the anatomy of a hoop, basic weaving techniques and materials, and how to clean up and finish the back of your piece. You will leave with a finished piece similar to the one pictured and enough knowledge to make a weaving on your own.
