Description

Rehoming a surrendered catfish, I believe it is the species Alberti. He is about 4 inches, very young. He is very active, no signs of illness. He is in a temporary 10 gallon hospital tank atm, and is eating zucchini and cucumber, as well as algae off a plant. Owner surrendered him because he was eating all their fish in their tank & was not well fed. Also weren’t aware that they get big & didn’t have the tank size for them! These animals live for 15-20 years, and require a huge tank, plus they add a lot of bio load to tanks & need to eat more than just algae. Please email or text (text will get you the fastest answer) pictures of your setup. I want full pictures of the entire tank, heater & filter, all in separate pictures if you can. If you could please also send me information on fish that are already in your tank, your water parameters, & how often you do tank maintenance i.e water changes, gravel vacuuming, etc. Your tank must have a natural setup with plants/driftwood as these species need it in their diet, & your tank must produce a good amount of algae already. I will not answer if you don’t send me pictures of your full setup with tank size/heater/filter, and I won’t rehome them to you if you can’t answer questions about your setup. If you are serious about adding a catfish to your setup & are looking to give a once neglected animal a new home, please message me! Local meet up in a public place in Nashua. Possibly willing to travel if person is serious about adopting/not too far.
