Description

As little Black girls in America, we're often told that we talk too loud or our noses are too big or that our edges don’t lay down. We’re told we have bad hair, our skin is too dark, or our butts are too wide. All of these are socially conditioned ideas meant to stop our shine, but guess what: No one would be trying to stop your shine if you weren’t already shining! Hey Black Girl! is an anthem for young and adult Black ‘girls’ alike. This workshop is an opportunity for us to discuss with our little Black girls why they are more than enough. Learning how to reclaim our value within ourselves and fighting against the subconscious and unconscious insecurities that can affect our thoughts and behavior is all that stands between us and becoming our best and highest selves. Bring your daughters, sisters, cousins, and friends. Let's affirm the little Black girls in our lives and the little Black girl inside by celebrating us!
