The Black Girls Don’t Get Love Slumber Party is a FREE event for girls of color—ages 5 to 25—to kick back and enjoy an evening of self care, food, and fun. Girls in attendance will be provided with pajamas, slippers, roses, and tiaras, and they will have the opportunity to get their hair, nails and make-up done by student cosmetologists. To help us plan for your arrival, registration is required. Please note, this is NOT a sleepover. The event will take place from 5-7 pm at Salt City Market. Participants under the age of 7 will need to be accompanied by a parent. Parents must register for a ticket as well. TO RECEIVE COSMETOLOGY SERVICES, girls must have washed and detangled hair; unpolished nails & no make-up on face. To ensure all girls in attendance get the experience of being pampered, the provided services will be simple and last a maximum of 10-15 minutes per person. This means elaborate styles such as silk presses, box braids, and similar styles will not be provided.
