In response to the affordable housing crisis, Massachusetts recently passed new legislation that requires communities adopt zoning that creates opportunities for multi-family housing development. Meeting the new requirements will protect Millis’s access to state funding for capital improvements, infrastructure, and funds for the Millis Housing Authority. Encouraging housing growth in areas supported by the community can provide a boost to small businesses and give Millis workers more housing options to meet their needs.
The Town of Millis, the Millis MBTA 3A Advisory Committee, and MAPC are inviting Millis residents to attend a public forum at Millis High School on February 21 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the high school cafeteria. Participants will learn about 3A and then be asked for their input on possible locations for 3A zoning and how to set local standards. This event will be held in person and broadcast on the Millis Public Schools YouTube Channel.
Participants coming to the forum in person are encouraged to RSVP, but this is not required to attend. Visit mapc.ma/millis3A to learn more about this project and other ways to share your input.
