Description

Dear Pastors, Deacons, and Fellow Believers in Christ, Please mark your calendars for this year’s Conference on the Church for God’s Glory on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The church in our day is like any other in its history—heresies abound, false prophets are many, and we must diligently guard the truth. To encourage pastors and churches towards this end, our theme for the day will be “Protecting and Proclaiming the Gospel.” We have invited a number of veteran pastors and Christian leaders who will encourage and exhort us according to the gospel: • David Huffstutler will open the day according to the conference theme, “Protecting and Proclaiming the Gospel,” a simple message from Jude 3–4. • Josh Buice will call us to be “Separated unto God” from 2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1. • Kevin Bauder will correlate a number of Scriptures to present “The Biblical Idea of Fundamentalism,” a topic that he has addressed many times before. • Greg Stiekes will encourage us concerning “Our Union with Christ” from Colossians 1:25–27. • Mark Herbster will provide us with “The Legacy of a Protector and Proclaimer of the Gospel,” a look at the apostle Paul’s ministry from 1 Thessalonians 2:1–12. • Josh Buice will preach once more to address “The Church and the Gospel” from 1 Timothy 3:14–16. I know the month of May is busy for many, but I hope you’ll be able to squeeze this one-day conference into your schedule. The fellowship and preaching will be well worth your effort. We have a couple of new speakers this year, and I pray that the Lord will bless our day. May He be pleased as we seek to protect and proclaim His glorious gospel. In Christ, Pastor David Huffstutler First Baptist Church Rockford, IL PS As always, wives are free to attend (but please still register), and there is a discount for students in college or seminary. We do not have staffed nurseries for the day, but our nursery rooms will be available mothers who wish to use them.
