Description

Killington Resort, Darkside Snowboards, and Burton are teaming up once again for the 9th Annual Slash & Berm Banked Slalom.  Snowboarders will gather at Killington's The Stash terrain park to take advantage of the natural terrain and all the creative elements the mountain has to offer for a great cause. This year's event will benefit Ryan Manning to help with his medical bills and care for the journey ahead. The action will start on Friday with a Shop Team Invite-Only banked slalom event.  Shops will enter teams to compete for the Slash & Berm Banked Slalom title. Saturday's event is open to all snowboarders and will be timed individually. The action continues on Sunday with the Grom event to take place in the Lil' Stash at Ramshead. Killington Resort will host the 3-day event and we are looking for volunteers to help in 3 key areas: Registration - Volunteers will be responsible for greeting and checking in participants, making sure all registration forms are filled out correctly, making sure waiver forms are signed, handing out competition bibs and shirts (if necessary), and providing info to the competitors regarding the event.Gate Checkers - Volunteers will be responsible for reporting riders who have fallen or gone off course. Each volunteer will receive a radio and designated gate. This position will require you to ski/ride (on intermediate/advanced terrain for Friday & Saturday) in order to reach your volunteer station. A lift ticket for the day will be provided.Runners - Runners should plan to work outdoors as responsibilities will vary, so please dress appropriately and bring the proper equipment. We will be working on hill, throughout the Stash/Lil' Stash terrain parks, so your ski/snowboard equipment will be needed, as well as any extra layers, hats, gloves, and facemasks to keep warm. Duties will mainly consist of setting up, taking down, and transporting fencing, tents, race gates, signage, wind flags, banners, etc. NOTE: you must feel comfortable with carrying 15-20lbs while skiing/snowboarding as you may be asked to do so. On Friday & Saturday, you will have to ski/ride on intermediate/advanced terrain. A lift ticket for the day will be provided. Each volunteer must fill out our REQUIRED Express Assumption of Risk form by clicking HERE or on the link in your confirmation email. Please fill it out just once in advance of your shift(s) so you do not have to do it on the day(s) of the event. ALL VOLUNTEERS must check in at our registration setup each day before your shift, even if you are not volunteering at registration. Our registration setup will be on the 3rd floor of the Bear Mountain Lodge (Fuel TV Lounge) on Friday & Saturday and on the 3rd floor of the Ramshead Base Lodge on Sunday. Someone from the Events Team will be there at the start time of your shift to help you sign in and give you whatever you may need for the day (a lunch voucher, a radio, etc.). Volunteers will receive a voucher for a free lift ticket to return to Killington for every shift worked. Lift tickets earned are valid 1 year from the date they are received. Lunch will also be provided for each shift worked. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis and you will be sent an email confirmation upon signing up. We look forward to another Slash & Berm and hope to include you on our team!
