9:00 - opening keynote with Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, author of the newly released Unearthing Joy: A Guide to Culturally and Historically Responsive Curriculum and Instruction
10:30-12:00 - concurrent breakouts
12:00-1:00 - lunch & connecting - on your own (option to purchase a boxed lunch)
1:00-1:45 - concurrent sessions led by UIC faculty, alums and current graduate students
2:00-3:00 - closing keynote with Samira Ahmed, author of YA best sellers Hollow Fires and Internment; middle grade series Amira and Hamza; and the comic Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit
During our time together, we'll have opportunities to connect, plenty of raffle prizes, and every registrant will receive a copy of Unearthing Joy and one of Samira Ahmed's books, as well!
