Hello Craigslist! Day Job is a blues band located in Fairfax, VA and we are looking for a new drummer. We are a power trio - guitar, bass, and drums. Our guitarist and bassist share singing duties, but if you sing too that’s great. We'd be happy to have you sing lead or backup. We play tunes that follow the blues form including early rock-and-roll, blues standards, and modern blues as well. We also have a couple of other non-blues tunes thrown in for variety. We are looking for a drummer who wants to rehearse on a weekly basis. We are not looking for someone who wants to practice on their own and then show up for gigs. We have 40-50 songs that we regularly play, so rehearsal is a way to keep them fresh, tight, and to continue to refine them. Our rehearsal space has a full drum set, so you would not be required to bring anything aside from sticks. We try to gig once/month; however, that has not been the case since the pandemic. We would prefer a drummer who has connections with venues so we can add new options. We would also prefer a drummer who has friends who will come out to gigs.
