We are currently looking for: An experienced craftsperson that will grow into our woodshop team lead. *All applicants must have a relevant portfolio of work (Please no drop-ins or phone calls) Job Description: We are looking to hire someone that would like to work with a small growing and dynamic business. Single Batch Designs produces unique and custom metal and wood items for both local and far away clients. Some of our work is stand alone furniture that ships. Some of our work is local millwork/casework/built-ins for local residential/commercial clients. We also have a growing internal metal fabrication and design group. We have experienced tremendous and sustained growth. We are looking to add someone with a diverse background in high-level woodworking (woodworking, casework, millwork, furniture building, veneering, etc.). While the position is primarily a building position. We are ideally looking for someone that could naturally grow with the business needs and eventually lead our woodworking group. This is a new position for our business. We are willing to accommodate the right person. There is no set pay rate, salary, benefits, or other established terms. Our focus is finding the right fit. The right fit will have a portfolio of high end millwork, hardwood furniture, custom hand laid veneer cabinet work, advanced wood joinery, etc or most of those things. Thank you and we look forward to talking, John Batchelor Description of primary responsibilities: Producing high end custom hardwood and veneer furniture Producing plywood case goods, cabinetry and millwork Creating jigs and developing efficiencies Planning projects and producing to a deadline (Ability to read technical drawings a must. Ability to draw technical drawings a plus) Installating built objects in a variety of spaces. This position could lead to a leadership/management role, ideally looking for someone that can grow with the business. Required Skills/Background: Recent experience working in a furniture making, woodworking production, or commercial woodworking/millwork environment for at least one year. Experience reading and working with technical drawings Experience taking a project from concept to completion Experience with woodworking tools (table saws, jointers, planers, wide belt sanders, drill presses, Festool dominos, track saws, etc, etc etc Experience with hand-tools and classical woodworking techniques Physically fit and able to lift 75#s regularly Bonus Skills (Not required, but mention if applicable): • Metal Fabrication and Welding Experience • Experience spraying/applying finish a plus. • Experience with CAD programs (ability to sketch a plus). • Estimating experience or the ability to calculate materials on a project If interested, please send resume/CV and portfolio to [email protected] (please no drop-ins or phone calls).
