Porter/Handyman position

We are seeking full-time janitorial/porter to join our organization, ABC Preschool & Kindergarten! This individual will assist in maintaining a health and safe school environment for the children, teachers, and families. We are looking for a hardworking and well-mannered individual who can be a team player to join our organization. Responsibilities: • Maintaining the cleanliness of the exterior and perimeter of the school building including removing debris from school grounds and walkways. • Maintain, manage, and ensure adequate supplies. • Removal of garbage • Painting and minor maintenance • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. • Set up and prepare for school events. • Some electrical and plumbing work. Qualifications: • Must have GED or High School Diploma • Previous experience in building maintenance, electrician, and plumbing. • Knowledge of electrical work and plumbing work • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with team members. • Must have basic knowledge of cleaning products. • Passionate about working with children • Ability to build rapport with children and teachers • Positive and patient demeanor • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must have a valid Drivers License • Must have the ability to work on your feet for long periods of time. • Be able to carry and lift items up to 50 pounds. • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift items. • Be available to work weekends and holidays when needed. • Be available for overtime hours as needed and directed by supervisor. • Fingerprint and background check clearance is required.
