As a Maintenance Worker, you will work under supervision in one of 3 divisions: Streets, Water/Wastewater and/or Construction. Working in Streets, you will perform manual labor and use tools and equipment required to maintain, repair, and construct street, drainage, and alley systems. If you are working in Water/Wastewater, you will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. And, working in Construction, you will perform much of the same which may combine all the above. To Qualify: • High School Diploma or GED required • Texas Driver’s License, Class C, required • 1-year skilled labor experience (preferred but not required) • Must obtain applicable Commercial Learner’s Permit within 1 month of hire • Must obtain Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License, within 6 months of hire (Funding provided for training to obtain class A,as available) • Physical demands require the following abilities:  Lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds; pull, push, and/or drag up to 150 pounds of installation and repair equipment or materials  Work manual labor outside  Climb, crawl, kneel, squat, stoop, twist, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing installations or repairs  Work in trenches and confined spaces, using proper safety gear.  Work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat, cold, temperature swings, and inclement weather  Work in constant and extreme noise levels routinely encountered in water distribution and wastewater collection, using proper safety precautions  Work around some dust, mechanical, chemical, and explosive hazards, using proper safety precautions About the Company This City is widely recognized for its commitment to excellence, its rich history and its bright future, all of which make it a smart choice for residents and businesses.
