Description

In this hands-on workshop, get ready to learn about how plants were historically used to make paper, pigments, inks, and dyes. After a brief presentation, you will be guided on a creative painting/print project using archival cotton paper, handcrafted papers, natural plant pigments, and live plants. Create your very own mixed media piece that will be ready to frame and take home to admire. About our Instructor Patti is a horticulturist and caretaker of Heartwood Forest Farm—a USDA certified organic farm located in Cedar, Michigan that specializes in growing culinary and medicinal herbs. She is a home herbalist and encourages others to connect with plants and nature. Her nature inspired creativity has been lifelong with the additional of formal college courses in papermaking, printing, and painting.
