Celebrate another successful year of the One Book Baltimore program! The student showcase features contributions from local Baltimore students including works of art and expression inspired by this year's selected title, Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez. The recipient of the 2021 Pura Belpré Young Adult Author Medal and one of BuzzFeed's Must-Read YA Books of 2020, Furia is a powerful contemporary YA novel set in Argentina about a rising soccer star who must put everything on the line—even her blooming love story—to follow her dreams. Free parking vouchers are available to program attendees who park at the Franklin Street Garage (15 W. Franklin Street) after 4pm. Ask Pratt event staff for your parking voucher prior to or after the program. One Book Baltimore is a collaboration among several local organizations to provide opportunities for Baltimore City 7th and 8th graders, their families, and community members to connect through literature by reading the same book. Discussions and programming will be held across the city this fall to spark conversations focused on peace and how to promote change in our community.
