Join us as we continue our efforts to restore the Village One School with the Village School Foundation. Village One's school building is a World War One era school and community building and is one of the most historically significant buildings in North Alabama. The Village School Foundation seeks to repair the building so it may continue to serve as a community and educational resource. Read more about its history here.
Each person may contribute in a way they are most comfortable. We'll be cleaning and organizing various sections of the interior and preparing for the next phases of restoration. This may include cleaning, scraping and painting; we'll provide supplies and direction, no experience necessary.
Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty in, including long pants and closed toe shoes.
If you're not able to stay the whole morning, please stop by anyway to say hi and see what we're up to! We will begin at 11:00 am and wrap up around 2:00 pm. Refreshments provided!
