The Florida Public Archaeology Network's Cemetery Resource Protection Training (CRPT) workshop focuses on cemetery care and protection.
During the morning classroom session in the Navarre Library Meeting Room, participants will explore cemeteries as historical resources, learn about the laws that protect them, the conservation of headstones and markers, and how to manage cemetery landscapes. In the afternoon, participants will enjoy fun, hands-on headstone cleaning practice with a D-2 solution at Holley Point Cemetery.
By the end of the course, participants are well-versed in issues surrounding basic protection of historic cemeteries and are encouraged to fill out at least one Florida Master Site File to record a historic cemetery over the next year!
