Company Description: 100 Times Farm is a certified organic farm in Boulder County, Colorado. The farm is in its third year of production growing diversified vegetables and flowers for distribution through our CSA models and downtown Longmont farm stand. We are now hiring for the 2023 season and are looking for the perfect candidate to oversee our greenhouse management, residential flower garden maintenance and installation clients, and flower CSA. Job Description: Crew Members are part of a small team that is essential to the day-to-day operations on the farm. This is a great opportunity to become fully immersed in diversified field production. This includes vegetables, fruit, and flowers. All Crew Members will have responsibilities that are essential to running an efficient farm, some that can be catered to specific interests or desired learning. This seasonal position requires availability Monday-Friday from 6am-7pm, and strives to maintain a 40-50 hour work week. Other than exceptional circumstances; days on the farm are 8 hours-long, 5 days a week, and with weekends free (however, each farm member will need to water crops on a weekend on a rotating basis). Responsibilities: Work with Crew Leader and other Crew Members to operate the farm efficiently and grow high quality produce. This can include: Harvesting, transplanting, cultivating/weeding either with hoes, hand tools or by hand Mulching, trellising, applying timely foliar feeds, and other crop management tasks Washing and packing produce with great care Maintaining clean and organized work and storage spaces Following and maintaining regulations necessary for Organic Certification Dedicated commitment to following all farm systems and practices; such as: crop plan, planting/harvest schedules, tool care, watering, Making deliveries and managing CSA distributions when needed Qualifications: Sincere interest in sustainable agriculture and its application in all aspects of vegetable and flower production Able to adapt with farm and season’s needs Valid driver’s license, willingness to drive farm vehicles as needed Physically able to endure repetitive motions i.e. squatting and lifting 50 lbs. Willingness to work in all weather conditions Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a kitchen/food service environment, or a similar small-team environment where speed, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential Conversational proficiency in Spanish if possible Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to do fast, quality, detailed production tasks like bunching, picking, seeding, hand weeding, washing, and packing Able to receive and provide constructive feedback Strong communication skills and the ability to set (and follow) clear expectations and be respectful in a small team environment Able to balance attention to detail with speed and efficiency, and understand when to lean one way or the other Conscious about safety Able to work independently without supervision, and able to ask questions when clarification is needed Compensation: $16/hour to start. Depending on Mother Nature and crop viability, you will receive a weekly CSA membership and a weekly DIY flower bouquet! Raises and bonuses are available upon the completion of a successful season.
