For more information about the Clubs, visit www.bgcmaine.org. Title: Facilities Manager (FM) Role Brief: Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine is seeking a full-time Facilities Manager. This hands-on, leadership position is responsible for overseeing that our various sites in Southern Maine are well maintained, clean and safe. The FM will also coordinate limited renovation and construction projects as needed and oversee maintenance of a small van fleet used to transport members and food. Our facilities include 6 sites, 3 gyms and a pool. This role reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and is a member of the BGCSM leadership team. Responsibilities: • Supervise a team of 3 employees, and manage performance of assigned staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance and support. • Plan and schedule maintenance, janitorial and grounds activities. • Oversee contracted cleaning, snow removal and grounds services and ensure facilities are ready to be opened for staff and members. • Manage vendors performing work on/in the facilities. • Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary cleaning, safety, and maintenance supplies. • Ensure BGCSM is compliant with OSHA and Hazardous materials standards. • Participate in the development and monitoring of capital projects. • Prepare budgets for facilities needs and manage against those budgets as approved. • Schedule and lead meetings with program and administrative staff on facilities needs and issues. • Proactively tour facilities not less than monthly to assess needs and standards. • Participate in BGCSM’s safety and facilities committees. Qualifications & Competencies: • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. • Possess or be able to obtain a certified pool operator certificate. • Strong experience with operation and maintenance of low-pressure boiler systems; both gas and oil. • Working knowledge of HVAC and Air Handler operations and maintenance. • Possess, or be able to obtain, a Building Operators Certificate. • Experience in managing maintenance and custodial work. • Experience with construction projects. • Must have a valid class C driver’s license and acceptable driving record. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to safely use a ladder up to 20’. • Knowledge of and ability to operate tools, equipment, methods, materials. • Ability to understand and follow occupational and safety rules, knowledge of hazards, safety precautions and chemical hazards involved in maintenance and custodial work. • Graduation from High School, or equivalent combination of experience and training. • Not less than 5 years of directly applicable experience. • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and build relationships across teams. Location: Portland, Maine with travel to various locations. Compensation & Benefits: • Full-time position with starting salary between $55,000 and $62,000 depending on experience and qualifications. • Generous benefit package, including health insurance, Long- and Short-Term Disability insurance, Group Life Insurance, and a 401k Retirement Savings Plan with employer contribution. • Free onsite parking.
