Construction Laborer/Carpenter Job Description Join the Building Crafts Team! Building Crafts, Inc. is accepting resumes/applications for Construction Laborers/Carpenter. Employee will need to have knowledge of and the ability to: • Form slabs, walls, and structural slabs, set and install equipment, install below and above ground ductile iron and PVC pipe, as well as miscellaneous metals. • Operate construction tools and/or equipment. • Assist equipment operators, carpenters, craft workers, and other skilled labor when necessary. • Prep construction sites by removing obstacles and hazards. • Load and unload construction materials. • Assemble and disassemble temporary structures, such as scaffolding. • Remove, fill, or compact earth. • Follow instructions and learn from on-the-job training when necessary. • Perform site clean-up. Carpenters need to have knowledge of: • Building rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel, bridge, or sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters according to sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions. • Following blueprints and building plans to meet clients’ needs. • Installing structures and fixtures such as doors, door hardware, windows and molding. • Measuring, cutting, and/or shaping wood, plastic, and other materials. • Constructing building frameworks including walls, floors, and door frames. • Helping erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes. • Inspecting and replacing damaged framework and/or other structures and fixtures. • Instructing and directing laborers and other construction helpers. • Concrete forms, forming slabs, walls, and structural slabs, • Setting and installing equipment, • Installing below and above ground ductile iron and PVC pipe, as well as miscellaneous metals. All applicants must be willing to perform other duties as needed, including willingness to travel if applicable to the project.
