Pitch Piqua is a charitable grant pitch competition with a $50,000 top prize for a nonprofit organization with a project benefiting Piqua! The Piqua Community Foundation’s 2022-2023 program’s finalists are: Edison State Community CollegeHealth Partners Free ClinicUpper Valley Career CenterThe finalist teams have been developing their concepts alongside The Foundation since the summer of 2022. Topics covered include project scope, budgeting, capacity-building and storytelling presentation skills. The finalist teams are now ready to present their concepts at a community event from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center. The teams will present to a crowd of supportive community members as well as a panel of four in-person judges representing various sectors of our community. All finalists will also be eligible for pass-through designated donations made by community members, who collectively act as the fifth judge! Tickets are $20 and include event entry, hors d’oeuvres and two drink tickets for the cash bar. Your ticket purchase helps to cover the cost of hosting the event and does not count as a vote toward any finalist organization’s campaign. One vote for the finalist organization of your choice is a tax-deductible pass-through donation of $10 or more. Donations must made through The Piqua Community Foundation’s campaign page for the specified finalist organization for the donation to count as a vote for that team. A donation from each individual counts as one vote for that finalist organization with equal weight regardless of the size of the gift. Each person’s donation counts as one vote; multiple donations by the same person will count as only one vote. The minimum donation amount to count as a vote is $10, but gifts of all sizes will be passed through to the finalist organization selected. Your donations will pass through The Foundation to each organization minus fees charged by the credit card processor. Donations must be made through The Foundation’s designated campaign page for the finalist organization by 6:35 p.m. eastern time March 2, 2023, to count toward Pitch Piqua voting.
