On Feb 7h from 10-2pm on the third Floor South Atrium, join the HIV Modernization Movement-Indiana and our partners for HIV Advocacy Day at Statehouse Day. Come and meet folks working with statewide and Indianapolis area initiatives to end the Indiana HIV epidemic. We will share the terrific HIV related work being done with key decision-makers, demonstrate the importance of HIV modernization and improving black health, and for legislative decisions makers to meet Hoosiers living with and affected by HIV. February 7 is also National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD), which is a day to acknowledge how HIV disproportionately affects Black people. The following organizations and initiatives will be there to share the terrific work being done. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN. Food/Drink: Complementary coffee specialty bar available from 9am-2pm. Free Boxed Lunches will be available from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm on a first come, first serve basis. Parking: There are numerous paid garages and street metered parking spaces available in the surrounding area. Entrances: Public entrances are located on the Upper East, near Capitol and Market St., and Lower West, off plaza, from the Senate Ave. side of the building (ADA accessible). Security: There is security and metal detectors at the public entrances. Those with pacemakers, defibrillators or other medical devices need to first notify the Indiana State Police Capitol Police officers staffing the entrance. A search will be conducted with a hand-held metal detector. Invite your legislator: Attendees are encouraged to invite their legislators to this event. Use this link to look up your legislators as well as your House and Senate districts.
