The Environmental Defence Center (EDC) is a nonprofit corporation that protects California’s coast through legal action. The EDC has represented 115 nonprofits, preserved more than 100,000 acres of invaluable land, terminated 40 offshore oil leases, and more. Designers in junior high through college are invited to display garments made using only sustainable and environmentally-friendly materials to support the EDC’s efforts. We will examine the harmful practices in the fashion industry and learn how to utilize sustainable methods to preserve our Earth for generations to come.
