49th Annual Redondo Beach Pier Kite Festival Presented by Redondo Pier Association and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach Sunday, March 12, 2023 12:00 - 5:00 P.M. Redondo Beach Pier 100 Fisherman's Wharf Redondo Beach, CA 90277 One of Southern California's longest running kite festivals returns to the Redondo Beach Pier on the second Sunday in March (daylight savings time). The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can bring their own kite or purchase a kite at one of the many shops on the Redondo Beach Pier or International Boardwalk. Kites can be flown on the beach along the Esplanade, immediately south of the pier. Prizes will be awarded in various categories including the best handmade kite, youngest kite flyer and the youngest at heart kite flyer. 1969 classic rock band will perform live on the center stage, followed by Craig's Hot Dog on a Stick eating contest.
