Description

Qigong, pronounced “chee gong", was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves using exercises to optimize energy flow within the body, mind and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being and increase energy. Qigong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body’s movement and posture to create a harmony within the body system. In most forms of qigong: 1. Breath is slow, long, and deep. Breath patterns may switch from abdominal breathing to breathing combined with speech sounds. 2. Movements are typically gentle and smooth, aimed for relaxation. 3. Mind regulation includes focusing one’s attention and visualization. $15 per class Pre-registration is required - see the ticket link in this event page to sign up! 16925 Manchester Rd.
