Brooklyn-based botanic company Greenery Unlimited is seeking a Studio Operations Manager to join our team on a full time basis. The Studio Operations Manager will oversee daily operations in our Production Studio, as well as maintain an organized and efficient workspace. Role Description The Studio Operations Manager helps facilitate smooth operational flow for Greenery Unlimited’s production studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The role is dynamic, covering many facets of the business, and to be successful in this job one should thrive in a fast paced and constantly changing environment. The Studio Operations Manager reports directly to the owners of the company, and coordinates with other Manager roles at the company. The ideal candidate: Is a self-starter - able to work independently and as part of a team. Is proactive and able to take direction Is detail oriented, and should be able to catch mistakes on inventory intake and production plans Has the ability to prioritize and change/shift focus with ease Is excited by the opportunity to wear multiple hats Areas of Responsibility Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace Responsible for all aspects of vehicle and equipment rentals Manage relationships with key operations vendors Track vendor pricing, rebates and service levels Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment Maintain a clean and organized studio. Come up with systems for organizing tools and products, and ensure staff is following protocol for putting things away. Manage pulling inventory and organizing materials for installations Organize and facilitate inventory transfers between warehouses Receive and organize incoming inventory in a timely-manner Manage unload of plant deliveries and assist when necessary Organize additional labor as needed for receiving inventory Keep order tracking software up to date. Ensure that order exceptions are logged in a timely manner. Order supplemental plant inventory from local nurseries Organize shipping of goods to national warehouses using UPS Pull and pack inventory for warehouse transfers Prevent items from going OOS through frequent checks and tight inventory management Check tools are organized post-install and alert PM of supplies that are low in stock Order supplies including breakroom supplies, potting soil, paper goods, etc. Check that garbage/recycle in being taken out on schedule and call Disposal Company for special pick-ups Ensure incoming emails are forwarded to appropriate personnel and responded to in a timely manner. Prior experience working with plants is a plus, but not a requirement. Requirements: 2 years + of management experience 2 years + of operations experience Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs Deep interest in and knowledge of indoor plants and horticulture Experience building strong relationships internally and externally. Ability to troubleshoot potential issues and articulate problems with internal groups. Solution oriented approach to problem solving This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 9-5pm, with a competitive hourly rate of $30 - $35 per hour depending on experience, plus benefits.
