This 6-hour training, in collaboration with Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center, Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, includes: Florida Baker Act Laws and Rules: 2014 Baker Act Manual, 2022 Florida Mental Health Act, F.S. 394, Part 1 Mental Health Act Regulation, F.A.C. 65E-5, Chapter 65E-12 Breakfast and Lunch will be provided Broward County School Social Work Association CE Broker Provider # 50-1760 CEU 4 will be awarded Objective At the end of this course participants will be able to: understand the difference between an involuntary hospitalization and a voluntary hospitalization, identify appropriate supportive services available through community resources for students returning to the school setting after a mental health hospitalization, and be equipped to share this information with other school support staff.
