Description
GRAMMY-nominated Brother Dege Legg (Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained) is one of the best-kept secrets in Louisiana; a musician, writer (Louisiana Press Award 2004, 2008), outsider artist, and heir to a long line of enigmatic characters birthed in slaughterhouse of the Deep South. It’s a been a wild ride for this boy. Like the mad love child of Son House and William Faulkner, Legg has burned a colorful trail through the Promised Land, working odd jobs (dishwasher, day laborer, cabdriver, embedded journalist, homeless shelter employee), hitchhiking, studying philosophy, and writing books while passionately championing the swampy quirks of Deep South. Brother Dege’s latest album is the critically acclaimed Farmer’s Almanac, an 11-track, southern gothic journey that explores escapism, class structure, and the opiated dark side of America’s small town rural communities. Brother Dege’s fourth album swarms with otherworldly slide guitars, rustic psychedelia, possessed barn burners, and swamp-drenched cinematic songcraft. Michael Juan Nunez is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from deep south Louisiana. He came up on the music scene as a sideman for a list that includes Harry Hypolite, Henry Gray, Lil Buck Senegal, Zachary Richard, Roddie Romero and The Hub City Allstars, John Mooney, Ms. Carroll Fran, D.L. Menard, Lee Allen Zeno, Dege Legg and The Brethren, C.C. Adcock, David Egan...we could continue but you get the idea. Michael Juan plays with conviction that only comes from many, many, many nights throwing down from roadside dives, to the biggest festival stages in the world. Born, raised, and currently residing in Lafayette, LA - Roddie Romero lives and breathes South Louisiana culture. His passion for authenticity shows in multiple aspects of his life, from his music with 3X GRAMMY-nominated band The Hub City All Stars to what’s cooking in his cast-iron black pot. But before the celebrated frontman had a Grammy nomination and multiple international tours under his belt, he witnessed the magic of Cajun and zydeco music in his own backyard. Already a music veteran, Roddie's talent emerged when he was just a young boy growing up in the heart of Cajun/Zydeco culture. After turning 21, Roddie toured North America and burst onto the Canadian music scene, spreading his trademark "South Louisiana Boogie" from Nova Scotia to the West Coast. Then this innovative artist took a break from heavy touring to follow a path of musical exploration, further expanding his musical tastes and talents. He delved into aspects of music he really enjoyed, teaming up with friend and pianist Eric Adcock. Their collaborations are a seamless blend of diverse, yet complementary influences, culminating in truly original material. Roddie Romero is taking the stage - once again delivering to audiences what he does best - heartfelt vocals and supreme musicianship, Roddie Romero-style. EVENT IS STRICTLY 21 & UP NO REFUNDS ON TABLE OR TICKET SALES
