Description
We've had Jewel since she was weaned off her mom. We refer to her as the Velvetine kitty since she is so soft. Her breed is considered a hypoallergenic type and her shedding is not too bad. We got Jewel for our son and ended up acquiring another cat as well. Jewel is a very calm and therapeutic cat and is easy to approach and pick up. She likes to be held resting on her back and she'll just go limp in your arms... it's kind of funny. She also LOVES boxes... the smaller the better. She loves to squeeze herself into a nice small box (check out the pic). My son has since gone off to college and is going to be moving into an apartment in a few months. He is allowed to keep one pet in these apts and he has chosen the other cat (you'll see him in the pics) to take to the apt. My wife and I travel a lot and we have a crazy dog and we do not want to try and tote Jewel around the country for the next 4 years. We like Jewel but we are just not the biggest cat people and my son is fine with us re-homing her. She has been spayed and has had the front claws removed and is up to date on all her shots. She is a little priss when new animals are introduced but she seems to get used to them eventually... assuming they don't annoy her to death. She is calm so she likes things... calm. If you have a whirlwind household with little ones and wild pets bouncing off the walls, Jewel may not be the right gal for you. All in all... Jewel has been a great cat for us and has really been a good companion for my son through some difficult years in his life. We hope to find her a great home with some good folks. We ask for a small rehoming fee but the main importance here is finding the right home.
