You may be wondering what wild weeds are? Nettles, chickweed and dandelions are considered weeds in most gardens but did you know these are extremely nutritious and medicinal plants? At this gathering we will be learning AND eating some delicious preparations made from wild weeds.
We will begin with a native plant walk. We'll get to know our native plant neighbors and observe them in their late winter stages. Many of them already bursting with life ready for spring. Then we will gather by the picnic tables and have a Wild Weeds lunch together prepared by Herb Club LA's founder Andrea Jimenez.
All levels of knowledge, ages and species welcome! (Feel free to bring your toddler, dog, cat, etc).
We recommend you bring a notebook, pen, camera, mug for tea and water. Dress comfortably. Herb walks are light walks in nature --nothing strenuous.
Plenty of parking available. We will meet by the restrooms.
