Description

Nā Kama ʻĀina, the children of that which feeds, addresses the desire of the community to re-establish familial connections with ʻāina and strengthen cultural practices within our ʻohana. The goal of Nā Kana ʻĀina is to increase opportunities of ʻāina and Hawaiian culture based activities and resources available to families to support a sense of community and stewardship through Hawaiian culturally based and ʻāina based learning engagements for the preservation, perpetuation, and practice of a thriving lāhui. Multigenerational learning and growing opportunities will be shared in all aspects of ʻohana through Hawaiian culturally based experiences that will enhance the pilina between ʻohana and ʻāina. Nā Kama ʻĀina embodies the ‘Ōlelo No‘eau (Hawaiian Proverb) “I ka nānā no a ‘ike,” by observing one learns and “Ma ka hana ka ʻike”, in doing so one learns.
