MUSEUM MISSION
The Museum of Native American History’s mission is to educate future generations about the lives of the First Americans.
The museum provides a cultural hub to amplify the voices of their legacy.
MUSEUM HISTORY
The Museum of Native American History was established downtown in 2006 as the Museum of Native American Artifacts.
The collection quickly outgrew the space, and MONAH opened its current doors in June 2008.
A registered member of the Cherokee Nation, David Bogle, born and raised in Bentonville, founded the museum that houses over 10,000 of the finest Native American artifacts.
The museum features Bogle's private collection and several collections donated and on loan to the museum for display.
Admission to the museum is free.
The museum is open 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday - Saturday.
Land Acknowledgement
Today, we gather on the ancestral lands that were home to the Quapaw, Caddo, and Osage people.
We acknowledge and show respect to these indigenous people who occupied this land in the past.
We acknowledge the ties these tribes had with the land in spirit and with its natural resources and hope that what we do here today will honor the legacy that Native people continue to build.
