Bassist needed for progressive hard rock trio

Description

If you are a bassist with some serious chops, cool with weird time signatures, changing tempos mid-song and lots of instrumental passages, then we should talk! Age isn't important, as long as you are old enough to get into the venues legally & young enough to put on a good show. We are a 3 piece, currently missing a bassist. We need someone with serious chops, as we do lots of unison runs with guitar & bass, plus the bassist gets plenty of opportunity to show off. Backing vocals a must. We perform progressive hard rock/melodic metal sorts of things from our existing recordings catalogue. Lots of instrumentals, but not exclusively. No "death growl" vocals, strictly melodic. Odd time signatures, tempo & key changes, with a focus on entertaining our audience. 5 CDs out, all of which were well reviewed by a variety of reviewers, including Guitar Player Magazine, who called the first album "brilliantly schizoid." It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: drug &/or alcohol issues are a deal breaker. No drama, bla bla bla. You've heard it all before. We're looking for a great player with an all-pro attitude, and we will bring the same. As far as the shows themselves go, we're looking to book lots of opening slots, performing anywhere from 20 minutes to 60 minutes of the original music we've released. Let's talk goals - if it were a perfect world and everything came together absolutely right, I'd like to play around 75 to 100-ish shows per year, with each member putting about $500 to $1,000 per show in their pocket. BUT- it's not a perfect world and we will need to work pretty hard to hit that goal. Should we really hit it out of the park & reach the ability to headline our own shows we would be doing around a 90 minute set. At every gig (regardless of set length) there will be a merch booth set up and everyone in the band will earn a cut of the merch sales. Initially the majority of the bookings will be near our home base (Rockford, IL), but if the pay is right we will need to travel, perhaps even out of the country. (Is your passport up to date?) There is much more to think about & discuss, but let's save that for an actual conversation. If this intrigues you at all, then reach out to us & we'll get links to the music, website, etc, to you and go from there.
