Description

BUFFALO, NY - Queen City Roller Derby has announced their 2023 Season return to play in Western New York. This season we will be returning to a full schedule with three home teams at the world's first purpose built roller derby track at Buffalo Riverworks (359 Ganson St. Buffalo). The unofficial start to the 2023 season will be February 3rd as we return to your regularly scheduled roller derby!. The event will be a mashup of the home team skaters and is being held at Riverworks. Doors open at 6:00pm, first whistle at 7:00pm. The game is a great warm up for skaters and fans alike and the first opportunity for fans to see a QCRD game in a fully completed Riverworks atmosphere. The bout will be in memory of Harrison Hazlett, nephew to one of our own skaters and recipient of services provided by P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. Dawson Knox autographed memorabilia will be raffled off at the event with full proceeds going to P.U.N.T. This organization is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) that provides families in WNY facing pediatric cancer with six critical programs that offer financial, practical, and emotional support from diagnosis to recovery and bereavement. P.U.N.T. operates with collaboration and guidance from community hospital partners to ensure that every dollar gets channeled to where it is most needed. We will also be hosting a Junior Roller Derby exhibition bout at halftime! Representatives from the league will be available to answer inquiries for all of our younger up and coming derby enthusiasts! You won't want to miss this awesome event!
