Description

Get the fire going, bust out your harmonica, and take a load off on your new handmade, compact, collapsible campfire seat! (...okay, but first you need to come to class & make it… and maybe learn how to play harmonica somewhere else). In this class, you will learn how to read a cut list, measure & mark reliably, and make a portable seat with your plywood scraps! We will learn to use the chop saw, drill press, disc sander, & finish nailer. The goal is to learn carpentry skills and come home with a finished folding seat Ages: 18+ Limited to 6 makers Instructor: Katie Buttermore Cost includes materials, tools, space, and instruction. To help offset the cost of the workshop, full and partial scholarships are available for those impacted by the Almeda Fire. Reach out to [email protected] for more information. Meet the Instructor, Katie Buttermore. "Butters" joined the TMC crew soon after the Almeda fire, as part of the team who facilitated bed-frame building workshops for folks who were displaced by the fire. They have mostly worked for non-profits in an outdoor setting (teaching and coordinating) since 2005, while working on side projects in natural building & wood-work whenever they get the chance. Any kind of making is of interest to them whether it's wood-working, music, comedy, or drawing; Butters describes themself as a 'Master of None,' & likes it that way.
