Demystifying Substance Use Disorder: Stigma Reduction for Emergency Responders is a course that provides detailed information about the current overdose crisis for law enforcement, EMS, emergency room nurses, and anyone who is interested.
. This course includes discussions about how to better identify,
interact with and assist those most affected by substance use disorder (SUD). Other
topics include Medically Assisted Treatment, the neuroscience of addiction, the history of SUD as a public health crisis, naloxone usage/distribution, harm reduction, emerging drug trends and threats nationwide and in Ohio, and stigma associated with SUD.
Members of Law Enforcement, Healthcare Professionals, and those who work in the Treatment Community are encouraged to attend.
The training is free.
CEU and CPT credits are being offered upon completion of the course survey following the 3-hour class.
