February is American Heart Month and there's no better time to consider getting a heart check up. Did you know heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S.? Our physicians at Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) want to see you before you have symptoms or a life-changing cardiac event. Join us for one of our Heart Month screenings this February.
Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free cardiovascular screening at CIS Baton Rouge (8401 Picardy Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70809) on Saturday, February 25 at 8:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Guests will receive a complimentary Carotid Ultrasound, Electrocardiogram (EKG) and Blood Pressure screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Carotid ultrasound is a painless imaging test that uses high frequency sound waves to create pictures of the inside of your carotid arteries. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS providers.
Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive. Refreshments will be provided.
Registration is required. Please reserve your spot here or by calling (985) 873-5058 with any questions.
