HSSI Spay-Ghetti & Nutless-Brownies Dinner

Take a night off from cooking and join us for Humane Society of Southern Illinois's first ever "Spay-Ghetti" Dinner! The pasta dinner, dessert, and beverages will be catered by volunteers. Cash bar will be available and local entertainment provided. A silent auction with items donated by local area businesses will be held, with winners announced at the end of the dinner. Proceeds will benefit HSSI's "Pennies for Pets" program. This program provides vouchers for a spay or neuter, bringing the cost of the procedure down to $45 for the pet owner. The remainder of the expenses are covered by the Pennies for Pets program and the participating veterinarians who offer their services to the program at reduced rates. Since this program is run on donations and grants, there is a limit of one voucher per household per month and on a first-come, first-served basis. Last fiscal year, 270 vouchers (30 per month)were sold for a cost of $12,150.
