Rehoming 4 y/o border collie mix

Description

*Needs to be placed in a home with no other pets and children. We’re looking to rehome Gracie, our 4 year old border collie mix (60lbs.) We adopted her from an animal shelter when she was about 1 year old, so we don’t know her entire history. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, on hw and flea/tick prevention, and had her annual exam in Nov. (we can provide all paperwork for doctor visits). She is well-trained, housebroken, and crate trained. She does well with grooming, is generally laidback, docile, and very smart. Despite being a herding breed, she doesn’t have the typical energy levels. She also loves people! Gracie is very dog reactive, especially when walking on a leash. We’ve worked with her on this and she has greatly improved since we got her. She also has issues with resource guarding (food, toys, and people). To be safe we’d like to place her in a home with no other pets or children. We’ve worked with her over the past few years on leash and obedience training. She knows 15+ commands and will need someone who can work with her regularly to stay up on her reactivity training and commands. She has been well cared for, loved, and will be greatly missed. We’d like to find the best home for her, where she can live to her full potential. We’d like to find a home with a fenced-in yard, local to the piedmont triad area (North Carolina), and no other pets or children. We’d like to make a home visit before placement. *Rehoming fee applies *This post will be deleted when we find a home for her.
