Learn the basics of knitting while creating a trivet to take home! The skills learned in this class will give students the foundation skills they need to move on to more complex projects. Students will learn to cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, and how to bind off. All materials for the class will be provided. Students will be able to take their knitting needles home as well as their completed project. No prior experience is needed. About the instructor: I’ve always had a passion for sewing and making clothes. About 15 years ago, having just moved to Columbus, I joined a group at my local library to learn to knit and I’ve had at least one project on the needles ever since. Knitting has allowed me to create unique pieces to add to my home and wardrobe as well as give as gifts. Along the way I’ve made a lot of new friends as we bonded over our shared love of creating through knitting.
