Do you have a love for the land, and the plants, animals and the other life it supports? Do you want to help take care of the special places you love? Do you like spending your free time walking through the woods? If you answered yes to any of these questions, becoming a Site Steward with the Nisqually Land Trust may be a good fit for you. Our volunteer stewards "adopt" one of the Land Trust's properties in the Nisqually River watershed, and periodically monitor it for positive and negative changes. The Nisqually Land Trust (NLT) is a nonprofit that protects and stewards lands to permanently benefit the water, fish, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed We have over 6,000 acres of protected land, so the Site Steward Program increases our capacity to track changes and more effectively steward this land. This Site Steward Workshop is an opportunity to learn about our Site Steward program and the work NLT is doing in the watershed. Current or returning site stewards are welcome to join us as well.
