The Center for Biological Diversity and the University of Mary Washington are hosting a screening of My So-Called Selfish Life. The paradigm-shifting documentary draws upon a heady mix of culture, science, and history-revealing the rich and diverse lives of people who said no to having children, and the forces that have marginalized them in society. My So-Called Selfish Life poses timely questions about the culture narratives that shape our identities, and asks: who’s really in control of women’s bodies and lives? Center staffer, Kelley Dennings, alongside panelists from University of Mary Washington will discuss the connection between choosing to be childfree and protecting the environment as well as the importance of reproductive freedom.
