Constitution Gardens will give us the opportunity to see a wide variety of birdlife within the context of many of our city's finest monuments and memorials. In addition to waterfowl, gulls, and Great Blue Herons, we'll be watching for winter residents like nuthatches, woodpeckers, and kinglets.
Directions
We'll meet at the corner of 17th and Constitution Avenue, NW (southwest corner) at 9:00 am. Constitution Gardens is accessible by metro. Nearby stations include Smithsonian and Federal Triangle on the Orange/Blue/Silver lines, as well as Metro Center and Farragut North on the Red Line.
As always, please be mindful of weather conditions, dress and hydrate appropriately, and use caution when traveling to new or unfamiliar birding locations. Tickets are available two weeks before the event.
