Description

Let's Reconnect in 2023! KCIABC’s annual Business Communicators Summit will be back in person February 23, 2023! KCIABC is excited to have past Chair of IABC and IABC Fellow D. Mark Schumann, as our keynote speaker. An executive coach and consultant, Mark Schumann helps leaders and their organizations inspire people to feel enabled and empowered to bring and do their best. His clients have included Southwest Airlines, IBM, ExxonMobil, American Express and other well-known brands. As communicators, we help organizations become better places to work where people can exchange clarity for confusion and confidence for uncertainty. Every day we strengthen how leaders become more aware of what people bring and need, how leaders edit their behavior so people feel free to be and do their best and how communication ensures every voice is heard. With Mark Schumann, we will look at how organizations can stand in and move beyond their culture truth to become workplaces where people feel free to say “no”, managers no longer respond with, “this is how we have always done it” and sounds of celebration boom above conversations filled with fear. Because we can make our world a better place, one organization at a time. The day includes nine breakout sessions with a diverse range of presenters and topics to empower business communicators. Join us on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the BEST Conference Center on the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park for this all day event. Stay tuned for more details. Early Bird Registration is now open! Save 25% when you register now though January 6th, 2023. As an executive coach and consultant, Mark Schumann helps leaders and their organizations inspire people to feel enabled and empowered to bring and do their best. Over the years, his clients have included Southwest Airlines, IBM, ExxonMobil, Kimberly-Clark, American Express, Delta Airlines and Cathay Pacific. After recently leading the reinvention of the work environment as VP Culture for Sabre, Mark teaches coaching, consulting and communications to graduate students at New York University. He is a Past Chair of IABC, an IABC Fellow, the winner of 17 IABC Gold Quill Awards and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
