For the past 25 years, the North Texas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated has been making its mark within the communities of North Texas by providing meaningful assistance to those most in need — the children.
In past years, each February, the North Texas Chapter hosts an annual Black History Program highlighting important historical moments in time or figures in our community (or worldwide) that have impacted or influenced our chapter. This year, on Sunday, February 5 at 2 p.m. at the Black Box Theater (inside the Grand Theater in Lewisville) we’re hosting I AM BLACK History — a closer look at what it’s like (past and present) as a black athlete in sports. Our goal is to educate our children and the community and demonstrate that their part in history is now.
The event will feature guest speakers Malik Jefferson, Je'Mone Smith, James Singleton, and Ashley Deary Bowie.
**The North Texas Chapter is also collecting donations of gently used or new purses or handbags along with essential toiletries geared towards women of color. Please see our flyer for details. All items will be donated to Denton County Friends of the Family.
