TPH Academy Figure Skating TPH Phoenix - traditionally known as Total Package Hockey - is just adjacent to the Ice Den Scottsdale. Within our model, we offer academics, sport specific training, mentorship, and off-ice training to student-athletes between sixth and twelfth grade. We can offer three of these four components to figure skaters and have a variation of our model where their individual skating coaches can have the ability to train them during Academy hours. We offer a flexible on-line/blended school schedule - meaning teachers are remote and academic support is on site. This allows our figure skaters and coaches an opportunity to create a schedule for the students to train on off-peak ice slots. This usually means more space on the ice for TPH student-athletes to work with their coaches on a less crowded ice surface. Our student-athletes train during the day, while still getting their school work completed and having time to live a more normal and balanced lifestyle. Our student-athletes are able to eat in 18 Degrees, which offers healthy athlete friendly meals to us at a fair price. Three and Five Meal lunch plans (per week) are available, but all of our student-athletes are able to use 18 Degrees as their cafeteria, regardless of if they participate in the lunch program. I believe we are one of the only groups able to bring in outside food. Dryland at Ice Den Performance is included in the package. The spinner room is not included, but can be booked separately during school hours. Main benefits to figure skaters are flexibility of schedule, a social environment to interact with like-minded and goal-oriented peers, better ice schedules, convenience for parents, a mentorship program, and access to IDP off-ice trainers during our training sessions.
