I’m looking for a good fit for this wonderful dog. He is very active; he loves coming running along side me when mtn biking and skiing. He also loves playing with other dogs that have a similar play style. I think he prefers that over trail runs. He enjoys playing with dogs, especially ladies dogs. He typically ignores other dogs on walks. He is reactive towards intact males and poodles. His recall is 75%. He is prey driven and likes to chase deer if given the opportunity, but is getting better at recall when I catch him before he starts the chase. We are still working on “leave it” in that case. I’m not sure how he is around cats. I think he wants to chase them. He is good with kids. He hardly barks. He likes to communicate through whines. It’s a beautiful melody sometimes. He also has a very cute grunt when he’s feeling good — sort of like a purr. He will bark when he hears certain engine noises, like UPS trucks, sleds, and dirt bikes. We are working on that and he is getting much better about not reacting. And every once in a while, instead of having zombies, he likes to jump and nibble. It’s rare if he gets enough exercise and play time. He loves car rides. He does not really sheds. He doesnt have much fur or body fat, so he gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
