REPAIR TECHNICIAN - DME Mechanically inclined person to apply APA Medical Equipment has been serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul and surrounding communities by providing medical equipment, supplies and equipment repairs for over 51 years. We are currently seeking a motivated, well organized individual to join our team as a full time Repair Technician at our Minneapolis, MN location. The repair tech troubleshoots, repairs and maintains medical equipment including, but not limited to, electric scooters, power and manual wheelchairs, hospital beds, patient lifts, lift chairs, and other assorted equipment. Job Description Mobility Repair technician responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair and/or service both client owned and rental equipment in the field and in the shop. Mechanical aptitude working with wiring, ohm meters, batteries Assemble equipment for orders according to manufacturer’s assembly instructions. Maintain rental equipment in proper and safe working order. Deliver and pick up equipment. Ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate with any signatures required. Notifies Customer Care of any comments or concerns and/or relays to management. Demonstrates and trains customers and caregivers on the proper use, care and safety of equipment purchased or rented. Performs minor adjustments and fitting of equipment. Maintains shop and warehouse in clean and safe condition. Maintains delivery/repair vehicle in clean and safe operating condition. Meets productivity and performance standards including keeping abreast of new manufacturer information and technology. Follows all safety procedures as required. Required Skills Qualifications: Mobility Repair technician qualifications: High School diploma/GED required. Experience in repair of electrical and mechanical devices preferred. Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and clean/acceptable driving record is required. Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to learn company software, use of internet and email software. Experience in using battery load testers, volt meters and ohm meters. Experience in use of basic hand and power tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage and change priorities. Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions. Consistent timeliness and attendance. Detail oriented and ability to read road maps and use GPS navigation. Ability to set up and complete repair orders in logical order. Ability to follow instructions and standard safety procedures. Ability to perform duties with integrity and consistent with company values.
